How'd they come up with the name Zingerman's?

It’s a made up name. Originally, Ari and Paul named the deli Greenberg’s Delicatessen after a regular customer of Paul’s fish market, a small woman who would come into the market on Saturday mornings with pink curlers in her hair. They had taken promotional photos and had a sign for the deli made up but ended up not being able to use the name because it had already been registered to someone else. Then Ari and Paul sat down together with some beers and a phone book and brainstormed until they came up with a name they liked. Zingerman’s was the result.
